Firenze
Melody shopped, I drove a car: both fun, but equally dangerous in this city. Narrow streets and a complete disregard for rules (what Italians consider general guidelines… very general) made for an interesting three days. We took a side trip to Pisa and through the winding mountain roads to Monterrosa al Mare, in The Cinque Terre. Then we spent our final day tooling around town with our friends Lena and Fabrizio (who live near Rome), along with their son Simone. This was by far the best time we had in Florence and a definite highlight of our trip. Florence is really an art lovers’ city, so given the fact I’m a designer it’s sort of funny that I didn’t like it all that much. All part of the adventure.
